The Whale (2023)

In the scene when the actor looks out the window and sees the bird eating off the plate outside, the trainer brought the bird to the set in a cage. Prior to filming the trainers covered the area with netting to prevent escape.  The andler was the only person inside of the netting with the bird during filming. The bird was securely held by handler if the netting had to be open as well as in between scenes. Bird very comfortable being handled by handler. Plate was safely covered in acrylic polyurethane to protect bird from paint used to color it. Only food placed on plate were apples and mealworms. On action, the director got the shot of the bird eating from the plate.
