In the scene where the actor walks across the courtyard and a bunch of pigeons disperse in her path, a dozen pigeons were carried in wooden carrier to location by the trainers. Prior to shooting the scene, the trainers placed a few pigeons on the ground with feed. On action the actress walked to her mark, and the trainer made a noise which sent the pigeons flying in different directions. The trainers retrieved the pigeons quickly.

In the scene where the actor feeds the pigs standing within an enclosure, prior to shooting the scene the trainer shows carrots to pigs. Then they bring the actor to the mark where the pigs are eager for food. The actor feeds them.

When the pig walks into the room, it reacts strangely, falls over, then the woman makes a gesture and the pig gets up and walks away, the pig was prepped for the action. Prior to action a handler was placed behind the door and used the buzzer to entice the pig through the door. Another trainer was inside the room at point B, hidden under the table out of the shot. On action the handler behind the door released the catch which allowed the pig to push his way through as the head trainer was pressing the buzzer. The pig walked into the room and sat on his mark at the double’s feet. Camera rolled as the pig moved around on the spot, standing up and then sitting down again and the head trainer would come in over the camera and reward the pig with food. The pig falling down was created through CGI.

When the actress gets out of the truck and the dog runs ahead of her, the trainer stood behind the camera. When the truck arrived at its mark, the trainer called the dog to her.

In the scene where the actors get out of the plane and there are two goats in the background, the trainers brought the goats to the set and placed them on their mark. The plan never landed near the goats. The goats were also tethered to the trees.

In the scene when the men break out of prison and the guards chase them with barking dogs, the dog’s trainers were dressed as the guards so the dogs were familiar with the actors.
