In the scene where actor drives car in front of a farmhouse and parks next to a horse drawn carriage, prior to filming trainers led the horses out of the trailers and to their marks before tacking them to carriage. Once on set, the animals were given approximately 20 minutes of acclimation time, prior to filming. We made sure the car didn’t come close to the horses. After filming the scene, the horses were taken back to zone where they were fed and watered.

In the scene where the actor pulls a crate of the back of a truck revealing a rattlesnake before his brother kills it with a knife and throws it on the ground, prior to shooting the scene the snake wrangler placed it between boxes and props in back of truck. The wrangler also was in wardrobe doubling as the actor. Snake wrangler transferred one of the rattlesnakes from its secured buckets, using snake tongs and hook and placed it into a plastic transfer carrier to set. Actors were never near the snake. When the man supposedly kills snake, they cut camera, took snake back to its holding area and filmed the actor “killing” a fake snake.

In the scene where the actors drive into a small town and pass a kid walking with a horse on a lead, the wrangler lead horse to set, via lead rope, from the trailer staging area. Wranglers stood with the horse on her mark, near the stationary wagon, outside of the store, far from cars and other traffic. After shooting the scene, they returned horse to holding area. In this same scene where the man walks out of the store and shoots the man in the leg, they used the correct quarter loads.

In the scene where the man pulls up to field and sees guards on horseback, the horses were brought to set by trainers. Actors mounted horses and instructed on how to handle them by wranglers. After wrap horses were brought back to holding area.
